What is Rett Syndrome? Rett Syndrome is a devastating neurological developmental disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls. It is usually caused by a mutation of the MECP2 gene on the X chromosome. Rett Syndrome is found in all racial and ethnic groups throughout the world, and in every socioeconomic class. Rett Syndrome affects 1 in 15,000 female births.

Early developmental milestones appear normal, but between 6-18 months of age, there is a delay or regression in development, particularly affecting speech, hand skills and coordination. A hallmark of Rett Syndrome is the repetitive hand movements that may include seizures, irregular breathing, swallowing difficulties, and curvature of the spine. Many individuals with Rett Syndrome live well into adulthood.
There is currently no cure.

Letter P with My Cricut Craft room

Hi Crafters! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today the design team made project with the letter P.

I chose to use the Preserves Cricut cartridge to create my card.

Card Base  5 1/2 by 4 1/4 in craft cardstock
white layer  is 1/8" smaller.
Red diamond paper 5 1/4 by 4
checked paper 5 1/2 by 2
green paper punched with recollection punch (sorry dont have a name)

For My cut I used the Preserves Cricut cartridge. pg 53 It is on row 3 button 9. cut at 3 1/2"

I embossed the strawberry with the swiss dots cuttle bug folder.  I then went over it lightly with Tim holtz Antique linen to make the seeds pop more.

For the ribbon I used the Antique Linen ink to dye it. I then did the loop and glue to make the ruffled ribbon.

The stamp is from My Pink Stamper fruit and veggie puns.

after I assembled the card I added stickles to the flower on the berry.

oh Those curly green pieces were made from wrapping strips of paper around my paper piercer. Then I attached them under the leaves.

 Here's My card again.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will go over to My Cricut Craft Room to see what my other design team sisters have made for you today.

Roaring Birthday Lion Card

Hi Crafty Pals!

I have a cute card to show you today. I am trying to get some birthday cards stocked up so I made six of these cute cards.

Here's my cards and then I will tell you about them!

The base is a standard A2 card.
The layers are then a 1/4" in smaller.

I used the Happy Birthday cuttlebug folder on the top layer of each of the cards. I then used distress ink on 5 of them. The colors are crushed concord(purple) Shabby shutter (green)

For the red on I inked my folder with the red ink. and then ran it through the machine. I thought it was cute but it was a little splotchy so I only did one.

For the lion I used Birthday bash Cricut cartridge. He is on page 44 and I cut him at 3 1/2"

I wrapped twine around the layer 3 times and then added a button.
For the sentiment I stamped on white paper with Pink by design stamps and  then cut a v shape on the end to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

WYEGW Shadow feature.

Hi Crafty friends!

Its Would you Ever Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room.
Today we are showcasing projects using the shadow feature but not actually using the cut. Sounds a little confusing but after you see my project it will clear things up.

So here is my card and then I will give you some details about it.

Isn't it spooky! Heehe.
I just loved the way that it turned out. Ok so here is the cut sizes and page numbers that I used

From Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge, on pg 48 (button 21) I cut the skeleton and all his layers @ 3 1/2

pg 72 (button 45) using the shift key I cut the fence @ 2 1/4"
pg 71(button 44) I used the base shadow feature key and the center cut button to cut out the tombstone.

The base of the card is a standard A2 card (5 1/2 by 4 1/4)
The glitter orange bat layer is  5 1/4 by 4
The grey layer was 1st cut at 5 by 3 3/4, Then I placed it on my cricut mat and pressed the center point button. I then moved my blade using the arrow pad to the center of my paper( well almost the center) I then selected the base shadow feature key and button 44.

I then inked around the grey paper using some memento inks in London fog, Grey Flannel and tuxedo black.

I stamped the bats and spider on to the grey paper and to make a spiders web I used some stickles.

I then assembled my card. I used my ATG gun to attach the orange paper on to the card base but for the grey paper I used score tape so that I could be sure that it wouldn't lift because of the glitter paper.

I then added some faux stitching to the fence and attached it flat on the card.

Next after assembling my little "Monster" I popped him up on foam dots and to make his bones look old I added some crackle accents to the white bones.

I love how the crackle gives great accent to the die cut.

So that is it. That's how I created my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you will head over to My Cricut Craft Room to see what my other design team sisters have made.

Wow is it October already?!? I can't believe how fast this year is flying by.
It's time for another 100 Cartridge blog hop!! YAY!!!!
All the design team has chosen at least 4 cartridges to showcase this month and there are some amazing projects in store for you.

You should have hopped over from Miranda! If you just happened to stumble upon my blog you are gonna want to start over at My Cricut Craft Room to see all the wonderful projects.

This month the cartridges that I chose were
* Wild Card
* Celebrate with flourish
* Enjoy the seasons Imagine cartridge
* Pooh and friends

Ok so lets get on with it. There is lots to show you.

Project 1: Wild card
***tip**** Cut ENVELOPE 1st

Here's my project then I will tell you what all that I did.

on pg 68 of the wild card cart.

using the black out feature key I cut the envelop and card @ 3 1/2 out of black card stock.

Then using orange I cut the envelop and card again.

Here is all the pieces cut out.

On the orange pieces I used my xacto and ruler to cut off the pumpkins.
I glued the parts down to the black card base and envelope.

I used a studio g stamp and embossed it with white embossing powder.

For the envelope I scored the lines and added the liner, then added the pumpkin on.

I then used a gelly roll stardust clear pen to add a little somethin somethin to the pumpkin and vine.
Here again is my finished card and Envelope.

Project 2 : Celebrate with Flourish!

button 28 cut @ 3"
I inked the moon with spiced marmalade distress ink.

My green paper tore on parts of the flourish so I just cut them off.

I popped up the witch with foam dots and added some stardust gel pen for accents.

My card base is A2
and the stripped layer measures 4 by 5 1/4

the black layer is 4x 1 1/2

I embossed the sentiment which is from studio g with white embossing powder.

The layer behind the moon is cut at 3X3 and corners are rounded.

To finish off the card I tied a knot with some bat ribbon and added some white dash lines.

Project 3: Enjoy the Seasons..

really not much to explain on this card. I cut the apple from the Imagine cart enjoy the seasons @ 2.5.
On a Kraft card base that measures 3x3 I added a brown dot layer and some red twine. and popped up the image with foam tape.

Project 4: Pooh and friends

Another simple card.. From the Pooh and Friends cart. i used the Icon feature key and the image on pg 44. I cut the pumpkins at 2 1/2.

I inked around them with spiced marmalade.

The card base is 3 1/4 square. the dot paper is 3x3

I glued the layers together and added orange peel stickels around them for some fun. and on the dot paper I used some more stickels.

That's all! I know it was a lot to take in.

Balloon Day Card

Hi Crafters!
Its design team day again over at My Cricut Craft Room. Our theme today was balloons around the world.
I used everyday pop up cards cricut cartridge and My Minds Eye  Away we go 6x6 paper pad

Here's my card and then I will tell ya what I did.

On pg 39 of Everyday pop up cards. I cut the balloon at 3 1/2.

after assembling the balloon I added 2 pearl as the banner holder.
I used my versamark pen to add some lines to the basket. I used weathered wood to ink around the balloon.

For the rolling hills I cut some green paper and inked with Tim Holtz ink in peeled paint, forest moss and shabby shutters. I also used my Versamarker to add some sprigs to the grass to add some texture.
I then popped up the top hill using foam tape.

Next I stamped the "thinking of you" in Memento London fog ink. The stamp set is from close to my heart.

I popped up the balloon with some more foam tape.

Here is my finished card. I just love it.

So what do you think?  I hope that you enjoyed my post as much as I loved making this card.
