Stars and strips!

Hey Everyone! I hope that you are all having a beautiful morning. It is a wonderful morning here in NC, we had some bad storms last night. I love thunderstorms, and watching the lightening so it was wonderful for me. but my dogs not so much; God saw us through them and now the birds are out singing and the sky is blue. I wanted to share a card that I have made for a few challenges. I will list them below!
Here's my card:

for my card, I cut the star from Potpourri Basket @ 2 1/2". The America is cut from beyond Birthdays@ 1" I also cut the shadow layer for it.  I added light blue ribbon and metal stars that have to be heated to stick. They are not for the I-Rock but some off brand from Walmart. ( * i used my hot glue gun tip to set them, no glue was in the gun, I just left it on them for a few seconds a BAM they were set, just like the I- Rock)
I used the Swiss dots folder on the red back ground and the Star paper is from Paper Studio open stock @ Hobby lobby.

I had so much fun making this card, it just seemed to come together, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I started.

useful scraps!!!

Hi everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend that was full of crafting and spending time with family.  I had a pretty good one. On Saturday my hubby had to work so I worked in my craft area and tired to help my overflowing scrap pile! * You know what I'm talking about* I am sure that you have one too. Scraps seem to be everywhere you turn, they are all over the desk in the floor, * I think they multiply overnight sometimes*
I have been trying to use up my scraps lately and they have gotten more manageable. I had tried the scrap basket. It went from small wicker basket to laundry basket, I had to do something. What I did was take an old file box and I labeled the dividers and that was working but They just keep growing, and growing; soon the lid was popping off and it wouldn't close, I could never find the right color or the folder for that matter. AND THEN Just like a light switched on I decided that I would take those useless scraps and turn them into things of beauty, and something that I could actually use.

I just grabbed Create a critter and I started flipping through and I decided to cut out not really the animals but some of the other elements.

I cut the all at 3 1/2" because that seems to be the size that I go to a lot for my cards and such.

It really helped use up some of my scraps and now I have these cute little elements to use on my card. they are much easier to store.

So what I decided to do from now on when I have scraps is I have a large Ziploc baggy that I place them in until I get them sorted and I do that at the end of each day. That way when I get ready to craft the next day, my desk is clean and I am not so bogged down.

It seems to be working so far. You may be asking what size scraps I keep well it really depends on the paper. if it is something that I could use as a border then I might keep it but Usually nothing smaller than 3" That kinda keeps all the little scraps down.

I hope that this might help some of you and please share you scrap organizing ideas if you may have something that is working for you.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a wonderful Monday!

Challenge entry for Betty Bee's Buzz

Hello Everyone! I hope that you are all doing great on this Thursday morning! I know that I am enjoying the day despite everything that I explained the other day is still going on. I refuse to let others hatefulness get to me any longer. So today I was checking out blogs and I found this great blog betty bees buzz and she was having a challenge to create something and share something fresh, delicious and yummy!  Create a project of your choice featuring "Food, Glorious Food" in some fashion. Well since I just got the preserves cart and I love strawberries, I created a sweet little card!

I cut the Strawberries at 4 1/4. I ran them through the swiss dots folder and chalked them and glammed them up with a little homemade glimmer mist.

I used accent essentials to cut the top note shape@ 4"

Thanks for stopping by! Now head over to Betty bee's buzz and get your yummy projects linked up!

 Hi Everyone!
I hope that you are all doing well on this Tuesday morning!  I have been having a rough couple of days with hateful, spiteful people. I just don't understand how people that you have been a part of their life for 15 years could be so mean and intentionally hurt you. Anyways, Yesterday I was feeling extremely upset and I was tired of crying and thanking about all that was going on so I decided to give Cricut a chance to cheer me up. I recently won the Preserves Cartridge and I really haven't played with it much, so I flipped thru it and this strawberry jumped out at me. I hadn't intended on making a card but you know how it is.

I used Swiss dots folder on the strawberry and inked it. On the base of the card I embossed it with spots and dots.  I had fun making it and surprisingly it took my mind off all the chaos that was engulfing me.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my card, remember IT'S YOUR DAY AND DON'T LET ANYONE GET YOU DOWN!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

You special day! wedding card

Hi Everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. It is a little stormy here in NC This morning, but the rain is nice. I have a card to share today that I created for a monthly swap group.  The Theme was Thank you or wedding and I decided on the latter.

Ok So I used Stretch your Imagination(page 72 on shift mode) to cut the cake and all its layers on 5".  I embellished the cake with some creative charms flat back pearls. I used my MS doily lace punch. and Then tied some white ribbon with tulle  and ribbon pearls.  I printed out the sentiment on my computer and inked around the edges.

I just love it. I had to make 9 of these! I hope that girls that got them really liked them.
I think its my favorite card that I have ever made.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you enjoyed my card!

have a great day and God bless you all!
