Gobble til ya wobble

Hi Guy and Dolls and Happy Friday! well as usual the holiday season is sneaking upon us. I love this time of year when there is a crispness in the air and all the leaves are beautifully colored. I can't wait until Thanksgiving for the pumpkin pie. Yum! Its my fav.
So today I have a cute Thanksgiving card for ya.
I cut the little turkey from simply charmed. I used a homemade "action wobble" on him. He really wobbles around.
For the action wobble I  bought some small springs from the hardware store and cut them in half. Then with my trusty glue gun I ran on end of the spring between some small circles of cardstock and glued them. Repeat on the other side and there you have it homemade action wobble.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend!

I'm Back!!!!!

Hey Crafty Pals!
I'm back, well for now. I hope that I can back into the swing of things again. I actually have something to share with you today.
Today is my Mom's birthday and I had to make her a card.
I wanted to make her a pop-up card and I tried, TRUST ME I DID TRY!!!!
I am so upset with provo craft that when they created Everyday pop-up cards that they didn't include instructions on how to assemble the pop ups!!!

****HELLO PC, WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING. THIS CARTRIDGE IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!*****
ok enough ranting...

Well I used the birthday cake on pg64 of everyday pop up cards. cut @ 4 1/2.

I used cuttlebug folders
Herringbone on the candles
Swiss dot on the base
de`vine swirl on "frosting"

I used a MS doily lace punch on the sides.
All the paper is Colorbok just from different packs.

I added glitter on the swirls and used glossy accents on the flames.

I hope to be back tomorrow with a Thanksgiving card. Thanks for stopping by and Please let me know what ya think!

Where am I?

Hi everyone! I know that it has been a super long time since  I have posted anything. I wanted to let you all know that I miss you all very much and I will be back soon. I have been going through some personal things and haven't been crafting much. On a lighter note, my Hubby and I are creating a craft room for me. I will then have my own space and I can get all my crafting junk  goodies out of the corner of my living room. It is just really hard for me to get creative when my stuff  is jam packed in to a space smaller than 5x5, and every time I try to create I get overwhelmed by trying to find the right things. I will be back soon and Thank you for all those who asked about me. I miss reading your lovely comments.

To the happy couple!

Hi Fellow Crafters!
I hope that you are all enjoying this hump day!
I am really looking forward to this weekend. I have a lot going on. On Saturday, we have a wedding to go to for my husband’s co-worker. I am a little nervous because the reception is a the country club and lets face it I am just a small time country girl. I know nothing about country club etiquette and I am worried that I will use the wrong fork and it might cause the world to stop turning or something. Just kidding. But I AM NERVIOUS ABOUT THAT! And on Sunday its my BIRTHDAY!!!! I will be 31! I was so worried about turning 30 that I cried for days but this year has been full of wonderful things and I learnt a lot about myself. So bring on 31 I am ready for it!!!

Ok back to the wedding. I had to make a card for the happy couple and I am not sure that I like this one but for now this is what I am going with but I may change my mind at the last minute.
I used the sweetheart’s cartridge to cut out the Mr. and Mrs. Image. I used purple cardstock and then cut the shadow on a shimmery purple velum. I add a little doodle to that.
Then I placed vellum over the mat layer only at the top to create a muted look. BTW that paper is from a black and white slice stack by making memories. I found it at Tuesday morning and couldn't pass it up for 1.99.
The ribbon is from wal-mart. The picture doesn’t really show it but it has shimmer as well.
I think it might have taken me 15 minutes to cut it all out and put it together. Super cute and super easy.

Well that is all I have for today, Thanks for stopping by!

I've been MIA!!!!

Hi Everyone!
I am so sorry that I have been MIA for the past few weeks.
I have missed posting and commenting on everyone blogs, but I have been having internet troubles.
So I thought today I would give you all a little update. I finally got my cricut back, but When I received it I kinda lost my mojo. I did make 200 bookmarks for the volunteers at my church but silly me forgot to take a picture. Other than that I have been doing a few cards and playing with some new goodies that I have gotten.
Let’s see I guess I can list some of the new things that I got.
Cricut Carts:
Everyday pop up cards
Wrap it up
Simply charmed
B is for boy (lite cart)
Celebrate with flourish (lite cart)
Sugar and spice (lite cart)
Bloom (lite cart)
Block party. (lite cart)

I finally got a heat gun and some embossing powder. I have to say that I must be doing something wrong because it just doesn’t turn out right for me, so that is something that I have been playing with.

I gotten a few stamp sets from my local big lots that were only 2 bucks.  I couldn’t believe that. Most of them were inkadinkado or Hampton arts. I have been putting my stamps in cd cases, and trying to get them organized.

I have gotten several new paper stacks that are super cute.

Some of the stuff was early birthday presents since my Bday is on the 14th of August. I cant wait to see what my hubby got me. I kinda know but I just cant wait to get my hands on it.

Lets see other news in my life, My job hunting my have paid off. I have an interview on Thursday. The manager sounded positive that I would get the job. Its not much, waitress at coffee house but any job is good. I have not worked in 7 years because of my back and I am ready to get back out there and give it a try. Maybe it will help ease the bickering between hubs and me. He is such a wonderful man and great provider, He has always taken care of me, since I was not able to work but I think that sometimes, it gets to him, when there is things that we would like to do and cant. Please just pray that I get the Job, I think that it would lift my spirits a bunch.
This month has been hard for me. I found out that 2 of my friends have cancer. A good high school friend was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and he is only 31.
My best friend that I spend so much time with was diagnosed with leukemia. I am just praying that they will both make it through and that Gods will be done for them. It has been very taxing on my nerves knowing that they are both suffering. Ok enough of that.

I think that is all that I have to share today. I have a card or twenty that I might post pictures of this week and I will be back to let you know if I got the job! Fingers crossed!

Getting Cricky simply sunday guest designer post

Happy Sunday Everyone!!!!
I hope that you are all enjoying this wonderful day that God has created for us. His creation and love is all around us. He loves everyone of you, He knows you better than your best friend, he knows your every thought and the number of hairs on your head. He is so WONDERFUL!!!!

I am super excited today because I am guest designer at Getting Cricky Simply Sunday’s challenge. Kristal is a wonderful and caring person, she has been so wonderful to me and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your encouragement that you have taken the time to give me. Kristal, you rock girlfriend.  Did you know that she has her own line of stamps now? In addition to her generous nature, she donates money from each sale to selected charities.  So go check out her stamps if you haven’t, they look amazing!!

Today the Challenge is called Lunchbox lovin’ meaning to make any project that features food.. What a yummy challenge.
So here is my Foodie project.

Recipe: (note I had a photo tutorial for you all but my camera decided to erase the pictures. Sorry)

I took a piece of cardboard (well actually 3 pieces) I wrapped them in duct tape to create the base.
I then added a 12 x 12 patterned paper to the top of it. Punching 2 holes in the top to run my ribbon through. I had to thread my ribbon using my scissors to get it through the tape. I tied knots in the ribbon ends and applied massive amounts of hot glue over them.

I used buttons to cover up the holes and tied small purple bows.

The Grapes are cut from preserves @ 8”.
I used devine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder on the leaves and added some green glitter glue.

I used SCAL2 to cut the words. The font is Kristen ITC

The verse is John 15: 1-4, and I printed it out and used my MS doily lace punch around the edges.

I finished the sign by adding some bling.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!

Good bye Dear Friend, Sad day in my Crafting space

Oh, today is a sad, sad  day in my crafting area. I have to pack my beloved Cricut into a small box and ship him back to PC.

I have been having trouble with my Cricut and after many, many, many attempts to fix it, PC has decided to replace it. I am kinda upset because I only got it in Feb. but I am glad that it decided to mess up before the warranty went out.   Wanna know what was wrong? well at first it would just freeze up. if I stopped a cut, unloaded paper or anything it would freeze up. well we did a reset on it. Crazy thing to reset a cricut. anyhoo so after that it would not complete cuts, and it was chewing up my paper so I tried changing the blade, adjusting the speed, pressure and in some case size. It didn't help. well yesterday PC support had me to update the firmware which I was weary of because of my SCAL 2 but it still didn't help with the cuts. I had to call back and they told me that they would have to replace it. So I wanted to honor my cricut with some of my favorite projects made with it.

I love you Cricut and I will always remember the good times that we had, and the wonderful memories that we shared.
I will never forget you!!!!!

With teary eyes,
Sarah

take time to relax

Hi Everyone!
I hope that you are all wonderful today. I have a card to share that I created for 2 challenges but first I would like to ask that you all take a minute to pray for one of our dear bloggers. She is in need of prayer. I don't know what the situation is but God does.
Dear Lord,
Please take our Dear Friend Kristal in your arms and comfort her. Rain down peace and comfort upon her and her family. God let her know that you are always with her and when she is unable to stand on her own you will carry her.
Amen

Now since we have the important stuff out of the way the 2 challenges are

Get well card

I made this card for a challenge over at Whimisical Wednesdays and the challenge was to make a get well card for a little boy named Angelo who had a brain tumor and is on chemo. I had gotten the everyday pop up cards a few weeks ago and I decided to use one of those for his card.

I didn't like the whale that was on that cart so I cut one from create a critter and just used the pop up part. I hope that he likes his card.

If you get the chance stop over by whimsical wednesdays and check out the other cards and see what you can do to brighten this little boys day.

Cricut 360 Challenge 2`

Second Post for today. Please scroll down to read my other post!

This week at Cricut 360 the challenge was to make a round thank you card.
This was a challenge for me because I don't have any cartridges with round cards, but I do have SCAL2 so I quickly designed a round card and then the 2 background layers.

I decided to use simply charmed and cut the bowl of strawberries at 3 1/4.
I ran the strawberries thru the Swiss dots folder.
I did a little inking, doodling and stamped on a small circle.

So cute, who wouldn't want a bowl of strawberries that was smiling!

Again I am entering this @ cricut 360

Happy Monday!!!!

Hi All!
I cant believe how fast the weekend went. Wow. Just too fast. I hope that you all had a great weekend and enjoyed spending time with your families and maybe got some crafting in.
I spent most of Saturday "Deep Cleaning" on the living room and the bathroom.

Then Sunday we went to church and it was a wonderful service about getting connected with God. The basis is you have to be quiet sometimes and quit talking so that you can hear him.  The preacher said it was like that one person that you are always on the phone with that you can never get a word in edge wise. Well if you are always talking How can God tell you what he needs you to hear.  He also told of how David didn't just give the task of defeating Goliath to someone else, he listened and took the opportunity that was presented before him.
Don't put off what God wants you to do until another time because he will only ask you for so long. Then you have missed the wonderful chance to do His Will.
I thought that it was a wonderful service and a great message.

I have been feeling like God wanted me to use my cards in some way that would bring Glory to him, I don't know about other parts of the country and how or what their churches may do but in the South we send cards out to the members of the church on their Birthdays, Anniversaries and Get well card and Encouragements. The Church that I attend is only 1yr old and they didn't have anyone, and guess who God told to do it! ME!!!! I am super excited that I can combine the things that I love to bring Glory to God!!!!!

I hope that you all have a wonderful week! I have a couple of cards for challenges but I am going to give them their own post.

What ever you do today, take the time to be quiet and listen to God.  If you Don't know the Lord Jesus as your Savior then please Ask him to come into your heart and forgive you of you sins. If you need help with this I would be more than happy to help. Just drop me a line.

Hugs!!!

warm wishes, Christmas in July

Celebrate the occasion Challenge this week was to create a Christmas Card but use NO RED!
We it is really hard to get into the Christmas spirit when it is 98 degrees outside.  I managed to create a little card with my new simply charmed cart.

I cut the hat and the mittens @ 2 1/4". The back ground paper is bo bunny. and I just added a hand cut banner.
I added some glitter and some doodling to my card.

It was fun playing around with a new cart and making this card, now I just wished that the temps matched.

Again I am entering this in Celebrate the Occasion Challenge 21

summertime fun!

Hi everyone! I hope that you are all enjoying humpday! We had a bad storm here on Monday and Tuesday, we had golf ball sized hail, 60 mph winds and crazy thunderstorms. I enjoy listening to the thunder and watching the lightening but the winds scare me. I am always worried that a tornado is going to happen, so I pray for the Lord to watch over us and I feel at peace then. Well the storm Monday was so bad that it took out a main utility box down the road, which in turn took out phone, internet and cable, and for some power ( i'm on a different power company) I got a few cards made yesterday, since I was not distracted with blogger and youtube. lol.

Here is one card that I made for a few challenges.

I embossed and inked the layers of his "fixing" to make them look more realistic.
and my sentiment is hand written.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!  What a wonderful day to be an American!
Thank you to all the Men and Women who have risked their lives and fought for our freedom, because they risked their lives for us we are able to have the Freedoms that others are not so lucky to have.   I am so thankful that I have the Freedom to sit here in my living room in my Pjs and write my feelings, I am thankful that I am able to worship God with out being killed. I am thankful that I can read my bible and share the word of God with others. I know that Freedom isn't free and that many have lost their lives just for our country. Yesterday at church we watched a video about how the Star spangled banner came to be a song. It was truly amazing and I don't think I will ever hear that song again without thinking about the men who died holding our flag high so that we could be a country.
I know that this is a long post but there is 2 special things I want to share with you today, the 1st is Psalms 20

Psalm 20

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

 1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices
   and accept your burnt offerings.[b]
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
 6 Now this I know:
The LORD gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 LORD, give victory to the king!
   Answer us when we call!

The second thing I want to share is "The Star Spangled Banner" I hope that you will truly listen to the words and be Thankful for the soldiers and the others that have given their lives so we may be FREE!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope that you all have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Stars and strips!

Hey Everyone! I hope that you are all having a beautiful morning. It is a wonderful morning here in NC, we had some bad storms last night. I love thunderstorms, and watching the lightening so it was wonderful for me. but my dogs not so much; God saw us through them and now the birds are out singing and the sky is blue. I wanted to share a card that I have made for a few challenges. I will list them below!
Here's my card:

for my card, I cut the star from Potpourri Basket @ 2 1/2". The America is cut from beyond Birthdays@ 1" I also cut the shadow layer for it.  I added light blue ribbon and metal stars that have to be heated to stick. They are not for the I-Rock but some off brand from Walmart. ( * i used my hot glue gun tip to set them, no glue was in the gun, I just left it on them for a few seconds a BAM they were set, just like the I- Rock)
I used the Swiss dots folder on the red back ground and the Star paper is from Paper Studio open stock @ Hobby lobby.

I had so much fun making this card, it just seemed to come together, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I started.

Hey guys and dolls!
I found the cutest little 3d calender set and I had to share it with you all. I found it at Curiosity Group! They have 3d's that you and cut and glue and it is a super cute calender.

Here is the one that I made.  OH MY Gosh! I know right super cute!

well I hope that you will go and check out their site! You can find it HERE

useful scraps!!!

Hi everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend that was full of crafting and spending time with family.  I had a pretty good one. On Saturday my hubby had to work so I worked in my craft area and tired to help my overflowing scrap pile! * You know what I'm talking about* I am sure that you have one too. Scraps seem to be everywhere you turn, they are all over the desk in the floor, * I think they multiply overnight sometimes*
I have been trying to use up my scraps lately and they have gotten more manageable. I had tried the scrap basket. It went from small wicker basket to laundry basket, I had to do something. What I did was take an old file box and I labeled the dividers and that was working but They just keep growing, and growing; soon the lid was popping off and it wouldn't close, I could never find the right color or the folder for that matter. AND THEN Just like a light switched on I decided that I would take those useless scraps and turn them into things of beauty, and something that I could actually use.

I just grabbed Create a critter and I started flipping through and I decided to cut out not really the animals but some of the other elements.

I cut the all at 3 1/2" because that seems to be the size that I go to a lot for my cards and such.

It really helped use up some of my scraps and now I have these cute little elements to use on my card. they are much easier to store.

So what I decided to do from now on when I have scraps is I have a large Ziploc baggy that I place them in until I get them sorted and I do that at the end of each day. That way when I get ready to craft the next day, my desk is clean and I am not so bogged down.

It seems to be working so far. You may be asking what size scraps I keep well it really depends on the paper. if it is something that I could use as a border then I might keep it but Usually nothing smaller than 3" That kinda keeps all the little scraps down.

I hope that this might help some of you and please share you scrap organizing ideas if you may have something that is working for you.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a wonderful Monday!
