man's birthday

Hi Everyone!
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I know that I did. On Friday a guy that my husband works with had a birthday and I had forgotten to make him a card the night before so I quickly threw together a card for him and I think that it turned out great.

I used my SCAL 2 software to cut the  car which is from scrapping table, which I won from K Andrew.I added some homemade "glimmer mist" to the car.  I printed up the sentiment on my computer and added a star eyelet.
When he opened the envelope he was so surprised that I had taken the time to make him a card, he said it was the nicest thing someone had done for him in a long time.  It made me feel so great to know that I had made his day! I think that is what card making and crafting is all about. Seeing the joy of people when I give them something made from the heart.

From my heart to yours!

my cricut vinyl

Hi Everyone!

I am so happy that it is Friday!  The week has gone by fast but I live for the weekends, when I get to spend much needed time with my hubby!
It has been pouring rain here in North Carolina for the past couple of days and it has everyone stuck inside.
Last night Billey, my wonderful Husband, Helped me personalize my Cricut. I have never messed with vinyl and he has, A LOT!
I used scal to make a design, just something simple, but I love it! It makes me smile when I look at it now.
I ended up having to cut it 2 times because the first time the vinyl slipped on my mat. UGH!
So here is my Cricut!

With the messed up cut, I was able to save the butterflies and part of my name, so DH took the butterflies and added them to my white craft desk organizer. super cute!
I hope that you all have a great weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Hi All My Crafty Friends!
Wow! This week has flown by for me and for that I am glad, I can't wait until the weekend, My husband is off this saturday and I plan on getting some much needed "honey do" stuff done. He works 6 days a week and is only off every other weekend, so it is WONDERFUL when he is home!
The card that I have for you today contains some handmade flowers that I saw @217 Creations and she has a wonderful tutorial on making these beautiful tulips HERE. I didn't have the glimmer glazes that she had so I used fingernail polish, some metallic paint and homemade faux "glimmer mist"

I used some green ribbon to make the stems. The glimmer doesn't really show up in this picture.
I really enjoyed making these flowers, which the petals are surprisingly made from apple shapes.

Please Check out her video tutorial and her blog because she has some amazing projects.
Thanks for stopping  by!

I am also using this card to enter in a couple of challenges

celebrate

Hi Everyone!
I hope that you are all having a great week. Mine has been great so far!

February is a busy month for me because of so many Birthday in my family, so I have been cranking out Birthday cards left and right.

Today I have a simple card that could be used for a birthday or any celebration.

I love the Teal and Brown colors of this card.

I used my Martha Stewart punch(cant remember the name) on the edge, and tied a simple bow.

The Paisley patterned paper is from MY Minds Eye the best of paisley paper stack.

The teal colored paper is from a textured paper pad by Canson that I found at a local discount store. I looked for it at Michael's but I think that it is retired now.
The Ribbon and Stamp are from my stash. I think that the ribbon came from Wal-mart and the stamp might have come from Michael's.

I hope you all have a great day!

my take on the stationary box

Hi Everyone!
I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was ok, I got a little crafty time in on Saturday, but on Sunday, I help with corralling 3, 650 pound pigs up for my father in law. It was not an easy task by any means.
Last week I watched the ustream that Ruthie and Alex hosted. Alex made a wonderful Stationary box from splitcoast stampers
I just had to try my hand at it. I think it turned out ok, but I don't really care for the paper that I used but it was one of the only heavy patterned papers that I had. It's from K&Co Daydream paper stack.

Tag shaped Valentines card!

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I had a wonderful afternoon with my hubby. This is the card that I made my husband. A Tag shaped According card!
I use rub on adheasve lettering for the glitter and the ribbon is from michaels
I got the idea from a book that he bought me called” 100 Great ways to make cards” by Shirley Toogood.
One side of the card! Layed out flat, I added a picture of us, chalked the edges!

The card standing

The other side of the card! I added the middle section to include a written message!

Here’s the HOW TO!
6 by 3 ½ CS (for template)
Solid CS
Patterned paper

To make Template:
·      Measure  1 inch down from the top and make a mark on both sides
·      Measure 1” across and mark on both sides
·      Connect the lines on both sides to make a tag shape

Once you have the template, place on CS and trace making sure that the edges touch.
Cut out and decorate, as you desire!
Save the template to use for another card!
